Problemsolver8 _ Nike Performance Skateboarding / Footwear Design

I was brought to design nike’s next performance skateboarding shoes, debuted at 2024 Paris Olympics games. This project started while Tokyo 2021 Olympics games was going on, tuning in and watches those young female skaters were so inspirational.

Special thanks to the entire PS8 innovation team, and David Neckless, my inline design partner to bring this project to the finish line.

Break in fast _ Break down slow

Break in fast _ Break down slow

While the name ProblemSolver8 tributes after Sandy Bodecker, the innovator in Nike innovation team, the shoe was designed with next generation in mind.

Again this is another great moment for me, leading a footwear design project for next generation celebrating a global sports moment.

Break in Fast, Break Down Slow

Designed to put in the work out of the box, the PS8 delivers with a 3-pronged approach. Starting with a layered Flyknit construction with leather in high-wear areas, it offers a broken-in feel that retains its shape session after session. An updated Flyplate is integrated into the sole, providing a responsive feel that works in tandem with the HART (High Abrasion Rubber Tech) outsole. HART uses less rubber to helps make the outsole lighter and more flexible. The PS8 wraps it all in a low-top silhouette with Nike Running aesthetics, heritage pattern and all the technical details that matter.

Thanks Chloe Covell for rocking PS8 at Paris Olympics game, Street style final!
